58 Projects to Go! Help Us Complete 700 in 2011

As you can see, we’re only 58 projects away from 700 completed projects in 2011. Our goal all along this year was to hit 700 completed projects, which is a 70% increase over the 2010 total number of 494 completed projects. I’m blown away every time I think about that number based on what I know about getting projects done. It’s incredible.

Like any organization, we set goals to push us further than we’ve gone before in order to reach deep and do what we need to do to make sure those asking for help find it. We don’t strive for numbers for the sake of numbers, but for the sake of real life connections between people. Our communities need those with resources and physical ability to help those without them.

No nonprofit or amount of money will ever completely overcome the needs and burdens in our community without us helping each other. Without ordinary people stretching beyond themselves to help another person, we just won’t see things change. I know many of you have experienced this to be true.

In this season of giving, consider joining with our other volunteers in helping NeighborLink Fort Wayne reach it’s goal of 700 “connections” in 2011.

There are 138 projects on the website to choose from. I know some seem really overwhelming and near impossible. Consider doing what you can or stretching yourself to do a little more than you naturally want to do.

Consider volunteering your time with NeighborLink or another organization this holiday season instead of offering a donation. It may be the best gift you could give your family and yourself.
