Merry Christmas - A Season For Hope
To the volunteers and supporters of NeighborLink Fort Wayne
We truly have been looked upon by God this year. He has remained faithful just as you have remained faithful to His calling in your lives to be dedicated to the mission being lived out in and through NeighborLink. I hope you’re in awe as much as I am when you reflect on how He continues to call His people into service through the organization we steward.
I am humbled by the unpredictable success in reaching our Fort Wayne neighbors for Christ this year. God is calling His church back to a place rightly seated in a local region and calling it to look at His creation in a wholistic perspective. He’s calling us to look beyond our city as a mission field where everything is broken and the Church can fix it with only large scale initiatives of charity. He’s calling us to radical, life transforming relationships where we learn to help and rely on one another.
We need each other to fully understand His Kingdom and I believe He’s showing us just that through the activity at NeighborLink. He’s showing us the poverty within through the poverty of others. He’s showing us the deficits of faith in our lives through the lack of faith in the projects that go undone. He’s giving us hope through the hope of a longing neighbor.
Isaiah 9:6-7
6 For to us a child is born,to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
7 Of the greatness of his government and peace
there will be no end.
He will reign on David’s throne
and over his kingdom,
establishing and upholding it
with justice and righteousness
from that time on and forever.
The zeal of the Lord Almighty
will accomplish this.
Regardless of what our organization looks like in 2012, I’m reminded that God still sent His Son to redeem us all back to God. He’s the restorer and we’re His tools. Thank you again for all that you do for NeighborLink Fort Wayne.
